WORKSHOP ON SYSTEMATIC REVIEW AND META-ANALYSIS

On September 24, 2024, the Central Research Facility at Santosh Deemed to be University hosted a pivotal workshop on “Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis,” reinforcing the institution's commitment to advancing research methodologies. This comprehensive event attracted an impressive turnout of 68 delegates from 80 registrants, reflecting the high interest in this essential area of study.The workshop began with a warm welcome to attendees and an introduction of the esteemed resource faculty by Dr. Jyoti Batra, Dean of Research. The inaugural address by Dr. TriptaBhagat, Vice Chancellor, inspired participants, emphasizing the workshop’s potential to enhance research practices within the academic community significantly. The ceremony was further enriched by the presence of key members of the university's leadership teamunderscoring the institution's unified commitment to advancing research initiatives.Throughout the day, delegates benefited from the insights of a distinguished panel of experts. Dr. Anju Sinha, Director of the ICMR-Cochrane Affiliate Centre, laid a strong foundation with a detailed introduction to systematic reviews. Dr. Anil Chauhan, Consultant at PGIMER, delved into the intricacies of meta-analysis, balancing theoretical concepts with practical applications. Dr. RounikTalukdar and Dr. K Yamini Priyanka, Project Research Scientists at ICMR, addressed the nuances of evidence synthesis and critical stages in the systematic review process. Meanwhile, Dr. Hariom Soni and Dr. Pooja Anand, Assistant Professors in Pharmacology, offered valuable insights into literature searching and assessing the risk of bias.Each session fostered an interactive atmosphere, encouraging participants to actively engage, pose questions, and discuss various research methodologies. Topics included evidence synthesis, advanced literature searching techniques, meta-analysis methodologies, and the interpretation of results using PRISMA guidelines.
