Department
Overview
Established in 1997, the Department of Public Health Dentistry is dedicated to enhancing community oral health through innovative programs and research. With a capacity of 100 BDS seats, we train future dental professionals to address public health challenges effectively.
A distinguishing feature of our department is the Tobacco Cessation Centre, which actively promotes awareness and support for individuals looking to quit tobacco, significantly impacting community health. Additionally, our Dental Care on Wheels initiative brings essential dental services directly to underserved populations, ensuring accessibility and care for all.
Our commitment to research-based outreach activities allows us to engage with communities, gathering data that informs best practices and public health policies. Through these efforts, we strive to improve oral health standards and foster a culture of prevention, making our department a leader in public health dentistry and community engagement.
