Department

Overview

Founded in 1995, the Department of Pharmacology has become a cornerstone of our medical education program. In 2008, we introduced the MD program with 3 seats, which has expanded to 6 seats since 2023. Our Ph.D. program, launched in 2013, currently offers 4 seats, underscoring our dedication to advancing research in pharmacology.

To date, the department has trained 51 MD students and numerous Ph.D. candidates, equipping them with the expertise needed for successful careers in pharmacology. We offer innovative resources such as a Computer-Assisted Learning (CAL) Lab for simulation experiments and a state-of-the-art Pharmacy Lab with mannequins for hands-on training.

Our commitment to safety is reflected in our Pharmacovigilance program, focusing on Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) reporting to the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The Student Centre further enhances teaching and assessment methodologies, creating a dynamic learning environment that prepares students to excel in the evolving field of pharmacology.
