Department

Overview

Established in 1995 for BDS and 2005 for MDS, the Department of Periodontology and Oral Implantology has evolved into a leader in dental education and innovative practices. In 2018, we introduced a PhD program in Integrated Implantology, enhancing our research capabilities. The department currently offers two MDS seats, expanding to five from 2024, and has seen 31 MDS graduates to date.

Our student-centric approach incorporates innovative teaching methodologies, ensuring an engaging learning environment. We are pioneers in the use of hard and soft tissue lasers, reflecting our commitment to advancing clinical techniques. Additionally, our dedicated 'Pink Power' Women Counselling Cell focuses on women's oral health care.

With a strong emphasis on research, the department boasts two patents and two copyrights, contributing to a rich intellectual property output. Our primary focus is regenerative periodontics, supported by quality research published in peer-reviewed journals, solidifying our position as a center of excellence.
