Overview

Established in 2004, the Department of Ophthalmology is committed to excellence in eye care and education. Our department offers comprehensive training with 8 seats for M.S. Ophthalmology, 150 for MBBS, 10 for M. Optom, and 35 for B. Optom, catering to a diverse range of students. We take pride in being the first and only Eye Bank in Ghaziabad, emphasizing our dedication to advancing eye health and providing vital services to the community.

To date, we have successfully trained 60 students, equipping them with the skills necessary to excel in the field of ophthalmology. Our focus on innovative research and hands-on training ensures that our graduates are well-prepared to meet the challenges of modern eye care. With a commitment to patient welfare and educational excellence, the Department of Ophthalmology continues to be a leader in the region.

To understand better the eye care needs of the society, thus contributing to improve the eye care facility available for every individual and larger populations locally and globally through education, clinical practice and communication

Dr. Sarita Aggarwal is the Professor and Head of the Department of Ophthalmology with 23 years of experience following her post-graduation and 17 years of teaching expertise. She holds an MBBS and an MS in Ophthalmology. Dr. Aggarwal is committed to delivering comprehensive eye care and advancing the field through her extensive clinical experience. With a passion for education, she has mentored numerous medical students and residents, ensuring they receive top-tier training in ophthalmology. Her dedication to both patient care and academic excellence has made her a respected leader in the field of ophthalmology.

Professional Skills and experience:

She is an anterior segment specialist with a wide range of experience in all types of Cataract Surgeries, Cornea Surgeries (PK and Lamellar Keratoplasty), Glaucoma Surgeries, and Oculoplastic Surgeries
Having 17 years of teaching experience, more than 45 publications in national as well as international journals, and having delivered many lectures in different national conferences, I aim for my students to excel in their learning journey
She is also a reviewer of various Indian journals and international journals like the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology and the European journal of Ophthalmology. Invited as a faculty in various national conferences like DOS, UPSOS, AIOS, ACOIN etc
She is a Life member of the All India Ophthalmology Society, Uttar Pradesh Ophthalmology Society, Eye Bank Society Of India ,Indian Society Of Cataract Surgeon and Delhi ophthalmology society and Indian Society of Carnial and Refractive Surgeries and has always shown active participation in all the events to keep updated with the new advances and development in the field of ophthalmology
She has around 45 Publication in various National and International Journals
