Department

Overview

Established in 1996, the Department of General Medicine has become a cornerstone of medical education, offering 11 MD seats and accommodating 150 MBBS students and 25 BSc Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics students. Our department stands out due to its significant clinical load, which enhances both undergraduate and postgraduate learning experiences.
We have established valuable collaborations through MOUs with organizations such as the Delhi Diabetic Forum and IMA, facilitating various academic activities that enrich teaching and research. Our multidisciplinary faculty includes specialists in cardiology and neurology, providing students with exposure to super-specialty training.
The department runs six specialty clinics, delivering holistic and affordable patient care through interdepartmental cooperation. Our experienced faculty actively engage in clinical research and trials, having secured numerous extramural grants. Additionally, we prioritize community health through extension and outreach activities, focusing on the prevention and awareness of non-communicable diseases like diabetes and hypertension. To date, the department has successfully trained 24 MD students and 65 BSc CND students, reinforcing its commitment to high-quality medical education.
