Established in 1995, the Department of Pathology has evolved to become a vital hub for education and diagnostic services. Initially offering 2 MD Pathology and 2 DCP seats, we expanded to 4 MD seats in 2020 and further increased to 10 MD seats in 2023. In 2024, we awarded our first PhD in Hematopathology. With a total of 72 students trained by 2024, our department emphasizes a CBME-based curriculum, utilizing both horizontal and vertical integration in MBBS teaching.
Our department is distinguished by its dual role as a postgraduate teaching facility and a provider of routine and specialized diagnostic services, including histopathology, immunohistochemistry, cytopathology, hematology, and clinical pathology. These services are crucial in guiding treatment decisions for patients. Additionally, we employ the latest teaching tools like a decahead and engage in interactive teaching methods, ensuring that students receive a comprehensive and effective education in pathology.
