1942
  • Inception as “Silverene” — a 10-bed private nursing home
1953
  • Taken over by the Medical Mission Sisters (MMS).
  • Renamed Holy Family Hospital with a Bed-strength increased to 22 beds.
1978
  • Management of the hospital transferred to the Ursuline Sisters of Mary Immaculate (UMI).
1982
  • Foundation laid for a new 4 storey general hospital building.
1985
  • Inauguration of the new hospital block with a capacity of 120 beds.
1987
  • Establishment of the Bandra Holy Family Medical Research Society.
1990
  • Addition of new departments: General Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, ENT, Gynaecology, Psychiatry, Homeopathic Clinic
2002
  • Launch of Holy Family Heart Institute
2005
  • Establishment of the Holy Family Institute of Nursing Education (HFINE).
  • First batch of DNB postgraduate medical residents admitted
2010
  • Inauguration of Mumbai’s first Hybrid Cath Lab
2019
  • Hospital capacity grows to 268 beds
2023
  • Updated imaging suite with modernised ICU & Trauma care.
2024
  • Inauguration of Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy Department
  • Upgraded Medical Ward and Paediatric Ward
