From 8th to 15th May 2024, the Departments of Immunohematology and Blood Transfusion at Santosh Medical College and Hospital organized a blood donation drive as part of Thalassemia Awareness Week. The event, themed “Empowering Lives, Embracing Progress: Equitable and Accessible Thalassemia Treatment for All,” aimed to support thalassemia patients by raising awareness and collecting blood donations. Over 30 donors participated, including students, faculty, and non-teaching staff. The drive featured health screenings, educational sessions, and refreshments for donors. The event was a resounding success, fostering community involvement and highlighting the need for accessible healthcare for thalassemia patients.
