  • 2024-11-15

On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purab, a Blood Donation Camp was organized by Santosh Medical College and Hospital, Ghaziabad, in collaboration with Khalsa Help International at Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha. The event was held at the Gurudwara premises to encourage the spirit of seva (selfless service) and promote the importance of blood donation in saving lives.

Execution:

The camp witnessed an overwhelming response from the community, with individuals participating in the initiative and motivating each other. People donated blood, contributing to a noble cause and ensuring a positive impact on the health and well-being of the community. The camp was a great success, reflecting the values of compassion and care taught by the Gurus. The following activities took place:

  1. Registration and Screening:
The event commenced with a registration desk where participants were screened by medical professionals to ensure their suitability for blood donation. Health checks such as blood pressure, haemoglobin levels, and overall fitness were conducted.
  2. Blood Donation:
After the screening process, eligible participants were guided to the donation area. Medical staff from Santosh Medical College and Hospital, along with volunteers from the Gurudwara, ensured a smooth and safe blood donation experience.
  3. Awareness Campaign:
In addition to the blood donation activity, there was an awareness campaign about the importance of regular blood donation. Leaflets and informational brochures were distributed to the attendees.
  4. Prayers and Langar (Community Meal):
Following the blood donation drive, all participants were invited to join the Langar, a community meal organized by the Gurudwara, as part of the tradition of sharing and community service. A special prayer was held to thank the volunteers and donors for their selfless service.

Conclusion:

This Blood Donation Camp was a successful initiative that not only celebrated Guru Purab but also contributed to the well-being of many individuals. The success of this camp serves as a reminder of the power of community spirit and selfless service. Santosh Medical College and Hospital, along with Khalsa Help International, hopes to continue organizing similar events in the future to promote health, kindness, and humanity.
