On the occasion of International Thyroid Week (25-31 May 2024), the Department of Biochemistry at Santosh Deemed to be University hosted a symposium on the thyroid gland, in collaboration with the Departments of Anatomy and Physiology. The event took place on May 31, 2024, at Maharaja Hall and was attended by faculty and first-year MBBS students. Key lectures were delivered by Dr. Monika (Anatomy), Dr. Manisha Gupta (Physiology), and Dr. Poonam Agrawal (Biochemistry), covering thyroid anatomy, physiology, and diagnostics. The session concluded with a quiz, and the Dean, Dr. Alka Aggrawal, highlighted the importance of early thyroid screening in preventing cretinism.
