AAROGYAM 2024

AAROGYAM 2024, organized by the Central Research Facility and the Student Welfare Section of Santosh Deemed to be University, is an annual event featuring a pre-conference hands-on workshop on molecular techniques and bioinformatics tools.

The conference was inaugurated by Hon'ble Chancellor Professor Dr. Y.M. Jayaraj, along with Pro-Chancellor Dr. Manoj Goyal, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Tripta S. Bhagat, and other distinguished guests including Dean of Medical College Dr. Alka Agrawal and Dean of Dental College Dr. Akshay Bhargava.

The Dean of Research, Dr. Jyoti Batra, introduced the workshop's resource persons: Indresh Kumar Singh from AIIMS, New Delhi, and Dr. Ajit Kumar from MDU, Rohtak. A total of 55 professionals and students registered for the pre-conference workshop, which was highly interactive and engaging.

On the second day, scientific sessions commenced with a keynote address by Dr. Ashoo Grover, Scientist 'F' at ICMR, on "How to Write Successful Extramural Government Projects." This was followed by invited lectures from esteemed experts, including Dr. Shirshendu Mukherjee, Mission Director of Ind-CEPI BIRAC, who discussed funding opportunities in the healthcare ecosystem, and Dr. Salaj Rana, who addressed policy implications of research in health.

The conference featured oral and poster presentations for undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD scholars, evaluated by expert panels, with awards given to outstanding participants.

On the third day, invited lectures included Dr. Priyanka Kapoor from Jamia Millia Islamia, who spoke on the "Gatekeepers of Publishing Scientific Literature," and Dr. Dheeraj Shah, Director of the National Institute of Mental Health and Family Welfare, who discussed "National Research Priorities in Child Health." Additional sessions covered topics such as medical college roles in med-tech innovation, writing discussions, and the role of investigators in clinical trials.

The event concluded with a talent hunt featuring seven oral presentations, judged by a panel of experts. The valedictory function included addresses from Dr. Rajiv Ahluwalia, Dean of Student Welfare, who honored winners and organizing teams, followed by a vote of thanks from organizing secretaries Dr. Raj Narayan Gupta and Dr. Sivanesan Dhandayuthapani.
